Everything You Need To Know About BAANG!

Recently, BAANG underwent a few changes to make it even better; however, the formula remained the same. BAANG is now available in two new flavors Cherry Limeade and Blue Raspberry. They both feature a new look and come in a smaller container that’s easier to travel with while also being better for the environment. BAANG is still 100 percent naturally sweetened, flavored, and colored. Not to mention, each container is packed with 30 servings so just one tub will last you an entire month.

If you want to learn more about the new and improved BAANG, check out this article “BAANG Is Back & Better Than Ever”!

Since BAANG is a staple for many of our K-POW customers, we wanted to break down the formula, so you get a better idea of what makes this supplement so unique. There are very few products like BAANG and that’s one of the main reasons why it continues to be one of our best sellers.

BAANG contains a distinctive combination of ingredients that work together to increase hydration, energy, performance, and recovery. Due to BAANG’s innovative formula, it can be used in a variety of ways such as a pre-workout, first thing in the morning, or as a midday pick-me-up. Nonetheless, BAANG is a much healthier and affordable alternative to overpriced energy drinks or lattes.

Now that you know some general information about BAANG, let’s take a closer look at its ingredients!

BAANG Ingredient Breakdown

What makes BAANG stand out goes beyond its look, features, benefits, or flavors. BAANG has one of the most unique formulas on the market, which is why we are going to break down the entire formula so that you know exactly what makes BAANG so effective.

Without further ado, here’s a rundown of BAANG’s comprehensive formula!

Every serving in one scoop, or nine grams, of BAANG contains:

B Vitamins

BAANG contains the following B vitamins:

  • Vitamin B6 - 25 milligrams
  • Vitamin B12 - 200 micrograms
  • Biotin - 200 micrograms

We added three B vitamins in BAANG including vitamins B6, B12, and biotin (B7) because B vitamins play an important role in converting food into energy among carrying out several other physiological functions.1-3 Although each B vitamin has their own unique benefits they collectively contribute to metabolism, the creation of new blood cells, and the maintenance of cells.1-3

Electrolytes

In addition to B vitamins, BAANG also contains several key minerals that serve as electrolytes including:

  • Magnesium - 50 milligrams
  • Chloride - 60 milligrams
  • Sodium - 30 milligrams
  • Potassium - 50 milligrams

Electrolytes are simply minerals that carry an electrical charge. Electrolytes are involved in nerve impulses, muscle contractions, hydration, and maintenance of acid-base balance within the body.

Without an adequate amount of electrolytes, you are more likely to become dehydrated, leading to fatigue, cramping, poor performance, and other health conditions. Therefore, it’s important to consume enough electrolytes in addition to an adequate amount of fluid.

Branched-Chain Amino Acids

BAANG contains the following branched-chain amino acids in the clinically studied 2:1:1 ratio:

  • L-Leucine - 1,500 milligrams
  • L-Isoleucine - 750 milligrams
  • L-Valine - 750 milligrams

Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) are essential amino acids which means they cannot be synthesized by the body. Therefore, it’s crucial to obtain enough BCAAs from food or supplementation. Branched-chain amino acids are needed for the activation of muscle protein synthesis (MPS) and the prevention of muscle protein breakdown (MPB).4

Muscle protein synthesis is the process of building and repairing muscle tissue. So, consuming enough BCAAs, especially around training, is important for optimal performance and recovery.4 BCAAs are also naturally found in various protein sources such as K-POW Nutrition Vegan Protein. If you would like to have a non-caffeinated BCAA supplement, check out K-POW Natural BCAAs.

Hydration And Recovery Matrix

To further support recovery, hydration, and performance BAANG contains the following ingredients:

  • L-Glutamine - 1,000 milligrams
  • L-Citrulline malate (2:1) - 500 milligrams
  • Coconut water concentrate - 500 milligrams

L-Glutamine is known for being one of the most abundant amino acids in the human body. Although it’s not considered as essential as branched-chain amino acids during times of extreme stress, injury, or illness it may be beneficial to consume additional glutamine. Glutamine plays a crucial role in the gastrointestinal, immune, and musculoskeletal systems. This amino acid helps promote recovery, gut health, and immune system function.5

As the name suggests, L-citrulline malate is a combination of citrulline and malic acid. Citrulline is a non-essential amino acid that’s converted into another amino acid called arginine. Arginine is further converted to nitric oxide which is a neurotransmitter that causes expansion of your blood vessels.6 This allows for more blood, nutrients, and oxygen to be delivered throughout the body especially to your muscles.6

Malic acid, on the other hand, acts as a catalyst in the Krebs cycle and increases energy production in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Malic acid also aids in recovery and boosts performance by reducing lactic acid buildup.6 So these two ingredients work together to enhance performance and recovery.

The last ingredient in the hydration and recovery matrix is coconut water powder which is a phenomenal rehydration agent. Coconut water powder is naturally rich in electrolytes including magnesium and potassium. Two minerals that are key for optimal muscle and nerve function.7

Coconut water contains several important vitamins including B vitamins, minerals, and trace elements such as zinc, selenium, iodine, sulfur, and manganese. Coconut water also contains enzymes, amino acids, antioxidants, and phytonutrients.7

Lastly, coconut water is one of the richest dietary sources of cytokinins which are plant hormones that seem to have powerful anti-aging effects. Coconut water is hypoallergenic and alkalizing; therefore, it can potentially help restore the body’s natural pH balance and counteract the negative effects of an acidic diet.7

Natural Energy Matrix

To increase energy levels, without the jittery effects of synthetic caffeine, we use the following ingredients:

  • Natural caffeine - 100 milligrams
  • Green coffee bean extract - 25 milligrams
  • Green tea leaf extract - 25 milligrams

Anecdotally, natural caffeine gives users a smoother yet sustained rise in energy, focus, and alertness. By using a combination of natural caffeine, green coffee bean extract, and green tea leaf extract BAANG can provide you with clean energy without the crash. This is one of the many reasons why BAANG is more superior to energy drinks.

Caffeine effectively raises energy levels by inhibiting adenosine which is a nucleotide that decreases neural activity leading to fatigue.8 Caffeine is one of the most widely used and researched ingredients in the sports nutrition industry.8 It’s been proven time and again to be both safe and effective.8

Inactive Ingredients

The following ingredients are simply added to improve the taste and mixability of BAANG:

  • Natural flavors - flavoring agent
  • Citric acid - flavoring agent
  • Malic acid - flavoring agent
  • Silicon dioxide - anti-caking agent
  • Stevia leaf extract - natural sweetener
  • Monk fruit extract - natural sweetener
  • Fruit and vegetable juice powder - natural coloring agent

Keep in mind that this list may vary slightly depending on the flavor.

Suggested Use

Mix one scoop, or ~9 grams, of BAANG with 8-10 ounces of water, vary the amount of liquid to your taste preferences. Consume before exercising, during your workout, or anytime you need a healthy energy boost.

Since BAANG contains caffeine, we do not recommend taking it four to five hours before sleeping or taking it with any other products that contain stimulants.
